The valley is sealed off via the Cascade Range to your northeast and via the Klamath Mountains towards the northwest. Inside the far north the terrain is rugged and greatly forested, becoming wetter over the coastal aspect and drier and barren in the higher northeast. From the south the Central Valley is closed off from the transverse ranges, most
